Film Society of Little Rock is excited to announce Michael Berryman (The Hills Have Eyes, The Devil's Rejects), along with Co-Directors Eric England (Madison County, Contracted) and Jesse Burks (One Please), will be in attendance at Fantastic Cinema & Craft Beer Festival (April 7-10) for the World Premiere of their new short film, CURED!
In CURED, "a possessed woman experiences a surgeon's unusual form of exorcism." Along with Berryman, the film also stars Scout Taylor-Compton (Rob Zombie's Halloween) and Sailor Holland (One Please).
Michael Berryman has been a genre icon since starring in Director Wes Craven's The Hills Have Eyes (1977). Since then he has credits in almost 100 movies and TV series including iconic films such as Weird Science, My Science Project, and The Devil's Rejects along with appearances in TV series such as Star Trek: The Next Generation and The X-Files. Berryman also starred in Director Jesse Burks ONE PLEASE (2014).
Director Eric England is a native Arkansas filmmaker that was raised on a steady diet of R rated cinema. After making his directorial debut with the backwoods slasher film MADISON COUNTY, he went on to find massive success with the worldwide hit CONTRACTED. This year, Eric will see the release of his latest film the dark-comedy thriller GET THE GIRL and begin production on the prestigious Blacklist screenplay, HUNTSVILLE, starring Anya Taylor-Joy from THE WITCH and Shea Whigham from BOARDWALK EMPIRE.
Eric England will also serve as one of the feature film judges at Fantastic Cinema & Craft Beer Festival.
A surgeon by day, Director Jesse Burks took an interest in directing films only a few years ago. In 2014, his third short film ONE PLEASE (also starring Michael Berryman) became a festival hit after premiering at Slamdance Film Festival. It went on to screen at festivals all over the world, including Tribeca Film Festival and winning Best Horror Short at Little Rock Horror Picture Show.
